Dr. Hugh Simpson

Neurologist

Dr Hugh Simpson is a neurologist with interests in epilepsy, EEG, movement disorders, and migraine.

He completed a three-year fellowship at Mayo Clinic in the USA as part of his training, during which he developed particular expertise in advanced neuromodulation therapies for epilepsy (including vagus nerve stimulation and deep brain stimulation) and movement disorders (deep brain stimulation). 

He is actively involved in clinical research, including the development of device-based technologies for monitoring and treatment of neurological disorders.

He leads the epilepsy neuromodulation service at the Alfred Hospital and is a senior research fellow at Monash University.
